While the remaining cards create a draw pile, each player is dealt a predetermined number of cards, typically seven or ten. To make a discard pile, slots all appthe top card in this pile is turned face-up. The goal is to create legitimate sets & runs as each player draws cards in turn from the draw or discard pile. Three or four cards of the same rank but different suits make up a set, whereas three or more cards of the same suit in a row make up a run.
