It was certainly a 'Wheel of Fortune' for the lucky couple from Washington, reportedly in town to attend a food convention. They left Vegas as millionaires, to the tune of $1,142,108.23 after their landmark win. The slot machine in question is a spin on the classic Wheel of Fortuneslot machine from IGT, a game with a reputation for creating big winners.

Scott McDermott, the Palms director of slots, said that the win was “... the kind of magical Vegas moment we love to celebrate,”

This latest win goes straight onto the honours board on the IGT site, which details previous jackpots. According to IGT, the total amount won now tops $3.5bn, and 1,200 millionaires have Wheel of Fortune (or one of its many variants) to thank for their lucky wins.
