Two to six players can play the game, and there are several variations, including Gin Rummy, Indian Rummy, and Kalooki, each withsatta king opening its own set of rules & subtleties. Each player is usually dealt a certain number of cards at the start of the game, depending on the variation being played. The top card is dealt face-up to begin the discard pile, and the remaining cards form a draw pile.
