Playing cards while driving should not cause the driver to become distracted. Clearly define the hours at which playing is acceptable; ideally, these srummy areashould be during periods of light traffic or while halted at rest areas. If at all possible, appoint one person to serve as the "game master," controlling gameplay while others concentrate on driving or navigating. Also, during lengthy drives, stop frequently to stretch your legs and clear your head.
