Rummy has roots that span many cultures & geographical areas, dating back to the early 19th century. Rummy's exact origins are still up for debate, but many new tinpatti apphistorians believe it developed from the Mexican game "Concentration" and the Chinese game "Dominoes.". Throughout the 1930s, the game became a mainstay in American homes and was frequently played in social settings in the US. Rummy experienced many changes and modifications as it expanded throughout the world.
