A certain number of cards—typically seven—are dealt to each player, and the remaining cards are arranged face down to create a drawrummy baaz pile. The discard pile is started by turning the top card in this pile face up. The first player to draw a card from the draw pile or the discard pile starts the game. Any legitimate sets or sequences that the player has created can be laid down after drawing.
